Hello! I'm Diana Lakatos, an experienced technical writer specializing in developer documentation, with over a decade of experience in the field. My journey in technical writing is deeply rooted in a passion for writing and making complex technical subjects accessible and engaging for a wide range of audiences. I am particularly passionate about accessibility and accessible writing, ensuring that the content I create is not just informative but also inclusive and easily comprehensible for all users.
Throughout my career, I have crafted user documentation, content for contextual help solutions, and various types of educational content. My foundation in software development, having graduated in this field, has been instrumental in deepening my understanding of developers' perspectives and needs, significantly shaping my approach to developer documentation.
My expertise includes extensive work with Drupal. As an active member of the Drupal community, I've contributed significantly by writing and editing topics for drupal.org project pages and module documentation, participating in Drupal conferences, serving as a guest lecturer at the University of Szeged, and co-authoring the Drupal 8 User Guide.
I have worked with diverse audiences and clients, including organizations like Sony Pictures Television International, SPT Germany, The Walt Disney Company, Da Vinci Learning, Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, and the DC Department of Buildings. This exposure has enriched my understanding of different documentation needs and standards across various industries.
In my current role as the Director of Documentation, I spearheaded the development of documentation processes for the multi-award-winning platformOS Developer Portal. This role allows me to apply my comprehensive skills in documentation to directly impact and enhance the developer experience and knowledge. At platformOS, I'm also the product lead of DocsKit, a documentation solution we are developing. Born out of the research and experiences gained from the platformOS Developer Portal, DocsKit aims to streamline and enhance documentation processes.
I am the author of Crafting Docs for Success: An End-to-End Approach to Developer Documentation, where I provide a blueprint for fellow documentarians on building efficient, high-quality developer documentation.
In addition to my expertise in documentation, I have also expanded my professional experiences by serving as a program monitor for a range of TV channels, including NHK World TV, jibtv, and Arirang TV.
Welcome to my portfolio, where each project and accomplishment tells a story of dedication, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in technical communication.
